🌞 Manner Polymers Celebrates the Opening of Its Solar-Powered Plant in Mt. Vernon

Mount Vernon, Illinois, is stepping into the future of sustainable manufacturing with the grand opening of Manner Polymers’ new solar-powered facility. Backed by a $54 million investment and the support of state and local leaders, this 80,000-square-foot plant is set to redefine standards in PVC production.

Manner Polymers, a leading manufacturer specializing in PVC compounds, is known for its innovation and quality. Expanding to Southern Illinois, the company’s mission is clear: to build a truly world-class facility that raises the bar for the entire industry.

🌱 A Modern, Green Facility

From solar-powered operations to advanced manufacturing control systems, the Mt. Vernon plant is built with the future in mind. The facility is powered entirely by a 15-acre on-site solar field, one of the first of its kind in the region. Once operational in fall 2025, it’s expected to increase production capacity by 100 million pounds, making a significant impact on the PVC sector while reducing environmental footprint.

“This solar-powered facility allows us to produce high-quality products while minimizing our environmental impact — a win for our customers, our employees, and our planet,” said CEO Raj Bhargava.

💼 Economic and Community Impact

Manner Polymers’ new facility brings more than just innovation — it brings opportunity and growth to Southern Illinois:

Governor J.B. Pritzker attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony, recognizing the importance of renewable energy, sustainable growth, and the company’s role as a key employer and community partner.
