Technical Engineer

Manner Polymers is a privately held manufacturer located in McKinney, TX. We are a manufacturer of specialty, commodity and custom polymer compounds producing products for wire and cable extrusion and injection molding applications. We are looking for a Technical Engineer in our flexible pvc compounding plant.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Lead our product technology efforts
  • Determine new product opportunities
  • Develop and implement product differentiation strategies
  • Manage all aspects of new product development
• Provide technical service
• Develop and manage the product technology and quality control team
• Support marketing efforts to enter new markets and serve new applications
• Interface with regulatory agencies (UL, CSA, NSF)
• Maintenance of technical data documentation
• Technical support to purchasing
• Optimization of existing formulas
• Process engineering and troubleshooting
• Develop strong technical relationships with customers

Keys to Outstanding Performance:

• Complete product offering for primary markets
• Develop differentiated compounds for commodity applications
• Develop cost saving material substitutions (e.g. Hytrel, Santoprene)
• Thorough understanding of compound formulation process
• Thorough understanding of wire & cable applications, markets and processing
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, suppliers and fellow employees
• Strong analytical skills and project management
• Ability to create procedures and infrastructure (documentation skills)
• Compounding equipment (PC/PLC system, high intensity mixer, CM twin screw extruder, Buss kneader)

Requirements:

• BS Engineering is related discipline, Chemical, Physics, Math or other related engineering discipline. 
• MS or Ph.D. Engineering preferred.
