Manner Polymers Helps Lovepacs Establish Denton Location
August 25, 2020
Denton’s chapter of Lovepacs, founded just over two years ago, is moving into its own space financed in part by a grant by McKinney-based Manner Polymers.
Lovepacs provides meals to families during school holiday weekends and school closures.
Volunteers gather food and cash donations, pack food into bundles and coordinate with campus counselors to determine nutritional needs during extended school closures. Volunteers then deliver “meal bundles” to counselors, who distribute them discreetly.
When the Denton chapter started, it was helping about 80 kids at two campuses. Now, it consistently serves up to 275 students across 10 Denton ISD campuses.
The Lovepacs Denton chapter is expecting to serve 350-400 kids over the upcoming 2020 Thanksgiving break.
