The Receiving Associate is responsible for managing incoming shipments, ensuring accurate documentation, and verifying the quality and quantity of materials received. This role plays a critical part in maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting smooth production operations within the manufacturing plant. This person reports to the Warehouse Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Receive and unload incoming material shipments including railcars and bulk liquid trucks.
  • Ensure all received materials are properly labeled and stored in designated areas while maintaining accurate records of inventory transactions in the system.
  • Review material and quantity received per BOL/packing list for accuracy.
  • Assist in cycle counts and inventory audits to support inventory control processes.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment as required.
  • Coordinate with the purchasing department to resolve issues with deliveries.
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
  • Operate the bagging machine when necessary for custom orders.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly warehouse area while operating safely and efficiently.
  • Other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in logistics or inventory management preferred.
  • Previous experience in a warehouse or receiving role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
  • Proficient in inventory management software and Microsoft Office.
  • Forklift experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Able to withstand moderate physical activity (standing, walking, bending, stooping over, reaching, etc.).
  • Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working outdoors year-round in various weather conditions.
  • Willing to work overtime when needed.
